The California Utility Commission have approved SDGE 's program to build 7,500 charging spots in the Californian market. SDGE's process requires manufacturers and service providers to qualify against certain criteria. Then it's up to the customer to choose from the suppliers at hand in in return SDGE will cover the ground work, cabling, digging and foundations. Therefore SDGE have used Unimi-1BaseTM as "ready-made stubs" at sites where there will later be a installation of chargers. This makes it very easy and cost efficient to roll-out EV infrastructure as you avoid extra cost for digging and can optimize the supply-demand between chargers and charging customers. Due to the Unimi-1BaseTM's modular design it's also fast and easy for SDGE to test new providers of EV charging equipment in their qualification process without having to do any additional ground work.
